While growing up if I didn’t want to experience my brother mocking me, I would plug my ears and hum.
Well, some of the time.
I’ve never forgotten that concept. This week I’ve been using it again.
Not literally, of course. 🙂
But the concept is there.
I will not allow myself to be tormented by something I’m exposed to. If I can control what passes across my field of vision, I can limit my unhappiness. I can prevent my own torment. I can control how I feel, by limiting what I choose to see.
What I choose to see, or not, is almost completely up to me.
I do this by not watching TV.
By limiting what I consume on social media.
By choosing not to engage in arguments.
By avoiding gossip in all forms.
I get to decide.
So do you.
Namaste, my friends.
