He knew what was right and what wasn’t.
It was so clear to him, so completely in focus, he was able to keep it in view, even when he knew that his death was imminent. He didn’t walk into that fearlessly. No. He knew through, he could not retreat. He could not acquiesce.
I highly recommend you get to the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tennessee. You will feel the full breadth of his efforts and that of others who literally died fighting for the rights of African Americans that had already been legally given to them.
I try to live by this quote.
He had it right.
